About
Founded in 2012, Ar Rahnu Singapore Pte Ltd (ARSPL) is a fully Muslim-owned company incorporated in Singapore (UEN: 201215691D). Since our inception, we have dedicated ourselves to serving the community by acquiring strategic assets and participating in projects rooted in Islamic finance principles.
In our commercial transactions and pawnbroking services, we uphold the belief that a meaningful business adheres to the highest standards of ethics, integrity, fairness, and social responsibility. Our motto, "all for one and one for all," reflects our commitment to benefiting not just our company, but the entire community.
Currently, we hold a stake in a joint venture with public-listed company ValueMax, operating their first Shariah-compliant pawnbroking branch in Joo Chiat Complex, followed by their second branch at Haig Road. As the ARSPL board comprises entirely of Muslims, all revenue and profit from our business, including our share in ValueMax Ar Rahnu, is subject to zakat, one of the five pillars of obligation in Islam.
Our services are overseen by a respected Islamic scholar, Ustaz Mohammad Kamal Mokhtar, who ensures we follow Islamic financial principles.
Ar Rahnu is open to everyone, providing a ethical alternative to conventional pawnshops.
Ar Rahnu Explained
Ar Rahnu means "collateral" in Arabic. We offer pawnbroking services that follow Islamic principles. Here's how we're different:
Shariah-compliant funding
Access short-term funds without interest charges, secured by pawned gold (Qard Hassan)
Fair fees
We only charge a small fee for storing and safeguarding your items.
Accepted items
We accept jewellery and gold ornaments as collateral.
